INTERFEST-BITOLA PIANO COMPETITION
For performing pianists

The Ninth International Piano Competition for performing artists will take place in the Institute Museum Gallery, Bitola, from October 58h through 7th, 2018.
The competition is open to participants of all nationalities, born 1987 or after.

REGULATIONS
1.  All pieces must be presented by memory (no music scores allowed).
2.  Pianos for rehearsals will be available for use in rotational scheme.
3. Members of the jury may not evaluate competitors that are, familiarly or professionally, related with.
4.  The jury may interrupt any performance that exceeds the time limited.
5.  Competitors who do not reach the 2nd and 3rd stage may request a certificate of participation.
6.  The first prize and special prizes cannot be shared.
7.  The jury may decide not to award all prizes; the jury's decision is final.

PROGRAM
FIRST STAGE (eliminatory):
J. S. Bach, one Prelude and Fugue from "Das Wohltemperierte Klavier”
One etude by Chopin or Liszt,
First movement of a Classical Sonata by Mozart, Haydn or Clementi, Beethoven

SECOND STAGE (eliminatory, 40 - 50 minutes):
One of the more demanding Sonatas of XVIII, XIX, XX Century
Major Piece(s) chosen by the participant

THIRD STAGE – FINALE Concerto for Piano and Orchestra
Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelsohn, Chopin, Liszt, Schumann, Grieg, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Ravel, Prokofiev, Franck, Khachaturian

AWARDS

FIRST PRIZE: 1.000 Euros
Recital in 2019
SECOND PRIZE: 600 Euros
THIRD PRIZE:   400 Euros
SPECIAL Prize “PREMIO FILIPPO TREVISAN”

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR YOUNG PIANISTS

The Ninth International Competition for Young Pianists will take place in the Institute Museum Gallery, Bitola, from October 6th through 7th 2018.                           The competition is open to participants of all nationalities.
Category A: competitors born 2009 or after,
Category A1: competitors born 2007 or after,
Category B: competitors born 2005 or after,
Category C: competitors born 2002 or after,
Category D: competitors born 1999 or after,
Category E: competitors born 1996 or after
The competition will be consisted of a single stage.
PROGRAM
CATEGORY A (5 minutes):
One piece of J.S. Bach;
Two or more pieces chosen by the participant.
CATEGORY A1 (10 minutes):
J. S. Bach: Small Prelude
One etude,
First movement of a Sonatina or a Sonata
One or more pieces chosen by the participant.
CATEGORY B (15 minutes):
J. S. Bach: Invention of 2 or 3 voices, or two movements from French Suite
One Etude
First movement of a Sonata (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven)
One or more pieces chosen by the participant
CATEGORY C (20 minutes):
J. S. Bach: Prelude and Fugue from "Das Wohltemperierte Klavier”
One etude
First movement of a Sonata (by Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven)
One or more pieces chosen by the participant.
CATEGORY D (25 minutes):
J. S. Bach: Prelude and Fugue from “Das Wohltemperierte Klavier”
One etude by Chopin or Liszt
First movement of a Classical Sonata
One or more pieces chosen by the participant.
CATEGORY E (30 minutes):
J. S. Bach: Prelude and Fugue from “Das Wohltemperierte Klavier”
In 4 voices
One etude by Chopin or Liszt
One Sonata
Piece (pieces) chosen by the participant.
